Money Coach

offering shame-free money management support for solo-entrepreneurs

Hi, I’m Jodi!

I’m so glad you’re here.

If you’re a solo-entrepreneur, CEO, or freelancer and you want some support when it comes to the financial back-end of your business, I’m here to help!

What I found in my own entrepreneurial endeavors is that there are bookkeepers who help track your expenses, financial advisors who help you invest your money, CPAs who help you file taxes, but there typically isn’t someone to help you set up your business in a way that allows you to pay yourself, pay your taxes, and make sound decisions about who or what to invest in. Also, navigating money is SENSITIVE; many of us have trauma that is directly or indirectly related to money; which makes it hard to want to look at the numbers. Most financial experts out there aren’t attuned to the emotional and physiological effects of financial stress or trauma, and/or don’t know how to support them with it. Yet, most therapists aren’t going to sit down and look at your financials with you either.

This is where I come in. While I’m NOT a CPA or licensed financial advisor or bookkeeper, I am an experienced CFO, songwriter, board certified music therapist, and certified ReBloom trauma resolution coach. As CFO and part-owner of ReBloom LLC, I came up with cash-flow systems to support paying 17 contractors and two owners, budgeted for complex multi-year group programs, reduced debt dramatically, paid for taxes on time, and helped with accurate pricing that led to tripling the income of the company from one year to the next. I’ve also completed the year-long Art of Money course by Bari Tessler (highly recommend it!). Combine all that together, and you get a dreamy, creative queer money coach who can help set you up for success in a shame-free and loving way.

Here’s what I’ve helped other solo-entrepreneurs with in the past:

  • Pricing offerings based on what you (and your biz) really needs

  • Budgeting for operating expenses (expected and unexpected)

  • Paying off debt and/or deciding what forms of debt to take on if need be

  • Setting aside $ for taxes

  • Separating biz from personal finances

  • Creating cash flow systems that work and are easy to manage

  • Getting clear on personal and business financial needs/goals

  • Navigating financial transitions

I do all of this with the following approach/values:

  • Shame Free. Look, none of us were taught how to manage MONEY in our personal lives, let alone our businesses. Seeking support is an incredible step, and wherever you’re at is not a reflection of your worth or value as a human (that’s untouchable).

  • Body-based somatic approach. Believe it or not, your body has a lot to do with how you relate to money. It’s where you experience emotions as well as physical sensations like fear or tension. We’ll weave in lots of ways to support your body, and resolve trauma responses (fight/flight/freeze) if they arise, so that the new information and learning can actually be received and integrated.

  • Going at the pace that is right for you. There’s no rush to look at the numbers ever. And it’s cool if you’re ready to jump in!

  • Anti-Capitalist Values of abundance, reciprocity, and sustainability (not scarcity, exploitation, and never-ending growth). (Props to Bear Hebert for teaching about these values in their anti-capitalist pricing course: Freely.)

  • You and your body know what’s best for you. I’ll do my best to help you access your own integrity and intuition about what’s right for you, rather than pushing what I think is best (and I’ll let you know my opinions, too, but only as another perspective to consider).

I work best with coaches, therapists, and solo-entrepreneurs who are:

  • just getting started and want to set up a fool-proof financial system for years of financial ease and clarity

  • highly experienced CEOs making decent money, who aren’t so comfortable looking at or managing some aspect of money (such as spending, investing, saving, pricing, paying off debt, paying taxes, or earning)

  • somewhere in-between just-getting-started and highly-experienced, and want support with managing an aspect of money.

  • great at marketing and delivering services, and could use support making sure that it will work financially.

I’m not the best person to work with if you are seeking support with:

  • Marketing

  • Sales

  • Getting your business off the ground

If that’s what you need, I have some great recommendations of people who do help with marketing, strategy, and business coaching!

I loved working with Jodi as a money coach. We worked together to file my backlog of self-employment taxes, and she approached it all with love, focus, and not a hint of judgmentalness. I would hire her again in a heartbeat and recommend her work without hesitation. If you're avoidant about money and overwhelmed by your finances, you want Jodi on your team.”

How does the process work?

  1. Optional free feeler call (book here): a quick 15-20 min phone call for us to see if we’re a good fit for one another. Come prepared to share what you want support with, and any questions you may have. I’ll let you know what I can do to meet your needs, and if I’m not the best person to support you, I’ll recommend someone else for you to work with.

  2. Schedule and pay for your first 1-1 money coaching session here

  3. Prior to our first session: Complete your Sacred Financial Intake, and review and sign the 1-1 Coaching Agreement (e-sign option provided via email after booking).

  4. First Session: the first session will be an intake where we’ll clearly establish your goals for our work together and get started accordingly. If you’re wanting to jump right into the numbers for something like budgeting or pricing a program, come prepared with any numbers or spreadsheets that are relevant (this is not required; as not everyone wants to dive right in on day one, and that’s okay, I trust your flow for real).

  5. Follow-Up Sessions: follow up sessions are very helpful for accountability and follow-through. We can meet on a recurring basis like once per week or twice per month, or you may book follow up sessions as needed.
