Holistic Music Coach

My clients are people who…

have a deep yearning to sing, write songs, play music, find their voice, be playful, have fun, and overcome that nagging “never-good-enough” feeling that has kept them from singing or playing an instrument. I provide loads of loving encouragement, insightful practical support, and/or somatic trauma resolution as needed to help bring your creative dreams into reality.

My background and approach

I started out as a singer-songwriter from age 12 when I received my first guitar and started singing about how beautiful every blade of green grass is.

I find SO MUCH JOY in songwriting, even when I write songs that convey really challenging emotions like grief or heartbreak, I still find the process joyful.

Later in life, I became a board certified music therapist, and worked full time for three years in a variety of settings including mental hospitals, schools, prisons, addiction clinics, and facilities for foster kids. I found that I could connect with people from all different backgrounds, and I truly enjoyed my work as a music therapist.

In 2019, I went on my first national Queer Your Living Room Tour, stopping in 30 cities across the US to share stories and songs about coming of age as a lesbian in the 2000s-2010s.

In 2020, I completed Peleg Top’s 100 Days of Creative High Growth program, and have been doing a daily creative practice ever since.

In recent pandemic years, I became trained in somatic trauma resolution as a Certified ReBloom Coach.

It’s with my personal love of music and creativity, and my years of experience supporting others on their creative paths, that I offer holistic music coaching today.

My approach is joyful, loving, humanistic, body-based, trauma-informed, and shame free.

What others are saying:

Amanda Testa, Sex and Relationship Coach

I reached out to Jodi for voice lessons because Ive been intimidated around singing and using my voice in that capacity. As a teacher and speaker and podcast host I use my voice all day, but singing has always made me feel very vulnerable. I wanted to free up more creativity and have fun using my voice in new ways.

On our first session I cried because I felt so tender, and we started with our cameras off, and worked through a lot of what was coming up somatically, so I could move through the feelings holding me back.

After just a few sessions, I went from being so scared, to joining a weekly singing group, recording a video of myself singing my hubby’s favorite song that I gave to him (he cried) , and feeling so much more comfortable singing. I know my voice still has room to grow, but it’s improved so much with the tips and tricks Jodi has helped me learn. I also started playing my guitar again, and have enjoyed bringing these passions back into my life. My kiddo loves to sing along with me as we do vocal warm ups in the car.

I recommend Jodi as a music coach to anyone who wants to have fun using their voice in new ways, with a teacher and guide who is very loving, who creates a very comfortable environment, and who really cheers you on as you pursue your goals.

I highly recommend Jodi!!
